The Timberland Company was established in 1918 in Boston Massachusetts. The name of its founder is Nathan Swartz. Timberland is headquartered in Stratham, New Hampshire. Timberland is the brand name for a number of lines of outdoors wear, primarily boots, produced by the Timberland Company. In the 60’s, the Swartz family crafted water proof boots which did not exist before that. The water proof boots became very popular throughout the world. In 1978 and 1979, Timberland introduced casual and boat shoes. During 1980s, the company developed into an international brand. Timberland was also launched in Italy.
